This is probably why.

Want to wake up early.
Want to eat better.
Want to exercise.
Want to <fill in the gaps>

We all want to build or break some habits. It is hard.

We feel bad every time we fail. We read books, hang motivational quotes, create vision boards, we hire a coach, put bets, we put it out to make ourselves accountable — we do a myriad of things to get to the state where it is a habit.

It is still hard.

The advice we get is: keep doing it. Repeat it. Even if you can take only baby steps, take them. Do not miss out on two days in a row.

The advice is gold.

Even when we miss out for months, but keep getting back it works. It takes longer — yes. But it keeps building on our habits.

Why?

Sigmund Freud
